Professional Training and Scope of Practice Agreement

Attendance:
Those who attend the Professional Training in full will receive a certificate of attendance. Those who only attend the training partially will need to watch a training recording and answer review questions or repeat the training to receive the certificate and the designation. All participants are welcome to attend a future DFB™ training at the “Repeat Participant” discounted rate, where offered.

 

Professionally Trained:
Those who attend in full the Level 1, or the Combined Level 1-2 training will receive the designation “DFB Professionally Trained.” This designation does not expire. With this designation they are permitted to use the DFB™ birth method, techniques and philosophy during labor to assist birth clients, friends, family or themselves. They are also permitted to lead a free “Intro to Dancing For Birth™” demonstration of up to 15 minutes to introduce individuals or groups in the parent and health care community to the purpose and benefits of DFB™, provided they give attribution to founder, Stephanie Larson and refer pregnant/new parents to the website dancingforbirth.com to find a Prenatal/Postnatal class with a Certified DFB™ Instructor, and refer health care professionals to the website dancingforbirth.com attend DFB™ Professional Training with a Certified DFB™ Trainer. This is the full scope of the designation.

 

DFB™ Career Advancement after the Professional Training:

 

Certification: Dancing For Birth™ Instructor:
Those who attend in full the Level 1 and the Level 2 training or the Combined Level 1-2 training are eligible to apply to become a Certified Dancing For Birth Instructor, additional process and fee required (training is step one of the certification process). Certified Dancing For Birth™ Instructors provide pregnant and new families with ongoing prenatal and postnatal fitness, childbirth/parenting education and celebration/support circle by leading Dancing For Birth™ class. Those with this credential are permitted to hold group or private classes for pregnant and new parents and their labor partner(s) in person or live online (subject to further guidelines). This certification is also suitable for those who do not plan to lead DFB™ class but would like to demonstrate their advanced skill set by utilizing the Dancing For Birth™ credential “DFB” and designation “Certified Dancing For Birth™ Instructor.” Certification expires if not renewed. This is the full scope of the certification. Certified Instructors may also utilize the designation “DFB Professionally Trained” and the scope (above). Please note that leading Dancing For Birth™ Class without certification is not permissible, nor is changing the name of the class, except to add the designated translation for your country/language.

 

Certification: Dancing For Birth™ Trainer:
Those who are Certified Dancing For Birth™ Instructors, have taught DFB™ class to parents for at least one year and meet other qualifications are eligible to nominate themselves to be considered for an invite-only spot in a DFB™ Trainer Training. Additional process and fee required. Certified Dancing For Birth™ Trainers lead DFB™ Trainings for aspiring DFB™ Professionals and Certified Instructors (subject to further guidelines). Please note that leading a DFB™ training, lecture or other event for the public or professionals without prior authorization from DFB™ headquarters is not permissible, even if it is not called Dancing For Birth™.

All photo and video footage from this training belongs to Dancing For Birth™.

Agreement:
This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, USA.

 

Waiver and Release:
My/our participation in this training is voluntary and at my/our own risk. I/my child have no health problems that would prohibit my/our participation. I release Dancing For Birth™, its respective owners, instructors, trainers, heirs and assigns from any claims, demands, injuries, actions or causes of action to my person, to my child, or to my property arising out of or connected with the training or the use of the information, services, equipment or facilities. I understand that the activities may be physical, strenuous and risk bodily injury and I accept all responsibility. I have carefully read with a full, definite and clear understanding the foregoing provisions and freely enter into the agreement, waiver and release.
