What People Say About the Bali Bliss Eco-Retreat
Naomi
"It was a profoundly meaningful experience…meeting and knowing a special group of birth workers on an elemental level. THE STORIES that were shared. The hearts that were exposed in this sacred space. I will never be the same. All in the name of sisterhood and growth and learning new skills to bring back to the practice."
Nikki
"Dancing For Birth™ is such a wonderful tool to serve clients. I have been certified for 11 years and there is no technique I enjoy using more"
Jeni
"I feel incredibly blessed to have met such kind, open-hearted, and free-spirited women from all over the world—Grateful for the time we’ve shared, the stories we’ve told, and the memories we’ve made. May we continue to explore, embrace adventure, collaborate, and live life to the fullest."
Sacred Monkey Forest
Where the monkeys roam free
The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is a nature reserve and temple complex. Dating back to the 14th century, it is regarded as a holy place. The monkeys, seen as sacred animals, symbolize both protection and mischief. The Sanctuary is home to over 1260 long-tailed macaques, and 115 species of trees. As we explore on foot we’ll be up close with the monkeys roaming freely in nature. We’ll witness their antics and even see them caring for their babies. Our visit helps fund the reserve's conservation action.
Dragon Bridge
Traverse the mythical Dragon Bridge, high above the riverbed below and surrounded by banyan trees that are hundreds of years old. In the dappled sunlight of the rainforest we'll experience timeless moments.
Monkeys
We're guaranteed to see monkeys as we walk in the Sacred Monkey Forest. The monkeys are accustomed to visitors. Get ready for a close-up encounter with them in their native environment.
Ancient Temples
See temples and intricate statues which hold cultural and spiritual significance. There are three ancient temples in the Sacred Monkey Forest which were built around the year 1350.
Sacred Water Temple
Our Bali trip wouldn't be complete without a visit to the beautiful Sacred Water Temple, also known as Saraswati Temple. Saraswati is the goddess of wisdom, music, and art. Paired with its expansive lotus ponds and water features, this site is as breathtaking as it is iconic.
Ayung River Rafting
Bring out your adventurous side on our Ayung River rafting trip. Experienced professionals will guide us through calm waters, gentle rapids and under a waterfall. Look for beautiful carvings on the rock face of the river valley, surrounded by natural splendor. After our exciting journey, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch, savoring local flavors.
Stunning View
Rafting Adventure
The Ayung River is the longest and widest river on the island of Bali. No prior experience is needed to participate in this phenomenal expedition. This is an active adventure. You will need to be able to walk down the stairs to the river, maneuver the raft, and walk back up the stairs.
Delicious Lunch
Descending to the river and being on the water in the fresh air primes our appetite! We'll have a delicious Balinese style lunch together after we ascend from the river.
Bumi Sehat Birth Center
Bumi Sehat birth center is a model for holistic, comprehensive, community care by midwives. It was founded by CNN Hero, Midwife Robin Lim, known locally as Ibu Robin “Mother Robin.” In Bali hospitals, if a family can’t pay for birth services they received, they are sent home without their baby and cannot bring their baby home until they pay their bill. Not so at Bumi Sehat, which provides services for whatever the family can afford, or for free if needed. Touring the beautiful Bumi Sehat and talking with Ibu Robin is a highlight to look forward to!
Royal Palace
The Royal Palace, is a historical landmark and cultural hub located in the heart of Ubud, Bali. The official residence of the royal family of Ubud, the palace showcases traditional Balinese architecture with intricate carvings, lush gardens, and ornate stone gateways. Today, it remains partially inhabited by the royal family while also welcoming visitors who come to admire its artistic beauty and cultural significance. A center for the arts, it hosts traditional dance performances that offer an immersive glimpse into Balinese heritage.

Explore Pura Gunung Kawi, a functioning temple across the river, and soak up the peacefulness. This archeological wonder offers a glimpse into the past alongside stunning natural beauty.
Holy Springs Water Temple
Nearby Ubud is Tirta Empul, a Balinese water temple. "Tirta Empul" translates to "holy spring," which is fitting, as the temple is built around a natural spring. Locals visit to partake in Melukat, a purification ritual where they bathe in the spring's sacred waters. With its multiple pools, shrines, and scenic location, Tirta Empul is a beautiful cultural site worth visiting.
Rice Terraces
Bali's rice terraces are a breathtaking display of nature and human ingenuity. Cascading down emerald slopes, these sculpted fields have been nurtured by the Balinese for centuries. The subak irrigation system, a UNESCO-recognized tradition, ensures water flows through the terraces, creating a mesmerizing patchwork. From the iconic Tegallalang, perfect for photos, to the vast UNESCO-listed Jatiluwih, these rice paddies offer a glimpse into Bali's agricultural heritage and a chance to connect with the island's iconic landscapes.

Hear What Birth Pros Say About the Bali Bliss Eco-Retreat
As the host of the Dancing For Birth™ Eco Retreat and Professional Training, this experience holds a special place in my heart. Each time, I’m reminded why I look forward to hosting it—because it’s profoundly transformative. Witnessing birth professionals arrive feeling burned out or disconnected, and 8 days later leave recharged, inspired, and deeply rooted in their purpose, is truly powerful. This retreat is a continuing education training, and it’s also an opportunity to connect with nature, community, movement, and joy in a way that nourishes the soul. I love holding space for this beautiful journey and experiencing the magic that unfolds when we come together to learn, grow, and dance.
xoxo Stephanie
