What if I don't want to become an instructor? The Dancing For BirthTM Instructor Training has many applications for you even if you do not wish to teach Dancing For BirthTM prenatal/postpartum dance classes. The knowledge you gain will benefit you and your clients in many ways.
Do I have to become certified? Seeking certification is always your choice, not a requirement.
Who should certify? Those who have completed the Dancing For BirthTM Instructor Training workshop and would like to teach Dancing For BirthTM prenatal/postpartum dance classes.
Am I certified at the conclusion of the Instructor Training? The Instructor Training is step one in the certifying process and is the majority of the process.
I don't know anything about dancing or teaching dance classes, can I attend? Yes! No prior dance experience or teaching experience is necessary.
I'm not a birth professional, can I attend? Yes! No prior experience is necessary.
Can I earn CEUs (continuing education units) by attending? Yes. Check with your organization to be sure they accept CE hours from Dancing For Birth TM This workshop counts as 14 CE hours for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) and as 14 CEUs from DONA International.
What if I am called to a birth or other emergency during the workshop? You are welcome to attend one or both days of another training and your registration fee will count toward that workshop. (subject to availability)
How do I find students once I am certified? Certified Instructors receive student referrals from Dancing For Birth TM . You can also teach at an established facility, such as a fitness center, birth center or yoga studio and receive either a salary or a per student fee from the facility.
What are the training fees? The Instructor Training Workshop costs $355 if registered by the Early Bird Registration Date (locate a training) The Regular registration fee is $385.
What is included in the training fee? The training fee includes the two-day training, the training manual, the Dancing For Birth TM DVD, the Dancing For Birth TM CD, and the complete set of Dancing For Birth TM Inspiration/Affirmation cards.
What are the fees to become a Certified Dancing For Birth TM Instructor (DFB)? Certified Instructors pay $50 annual dues to Dancing For Birth TM . The application fee to become a certified instructor is $45.
How much income can I expect to earn as a certified instructor? The average instructor recoups her training/certifying investment in her first four hours of teaching. As a general guideline, you can expect to charge $15 per student per hour. If you work for a facility you will negotiate your salary or per student fee with the facility
Does Dancing For Birth TM take a portion of my earnings once I start teaching classes? No! You will receive 100% of the revenue from teaching your classes directly from your students. You set your own rate.
What is the licensing fee facilities are required to pay Dancing For Birth TM ? $0. As a certified instructor, you can teach anywhere and the facility does not pay any fees to Dancing For Birth TM .
